WARM OFF THE PRESS: Host cities cut in half
As you know, the identity of the host city for Germany 2011 has been…well….ambiguous. Rather than assuming that we’ll be tuning in to Berlin (mmm, catchy!), we’ve had not 2, not 3, not 4, but 8 cities putting their hands up.
But now, I can reveal to you something it’s highly likely you already know! Today the German broadcaster NDR announced that the shortlist is now 50% shorter with only 4 in the running. One of these will follow ‘2011’ very frequently over the next year:
1. Berlin
2. Hamburg
3. Hanover
4. Düsseldorf
I’ve gotta say, they all sound pretty good next to those four numbers. I’m going to rule out Düsseldorf – I don’t think it’ll make a further cut, and I’m not sure about Hanover. I suspect Berlin or Hamburg will be the weiner (sorry) but no matter what the outcome, I’ll be happy.
